Schwarzenegger: Maybe offshore drilling isn't a great idea after all

The LA Times and others are reporting that Gov. Schwarzenegger has decided not to include offshore oil drilling in his budget.

Schwarzenegger was actually against offshore drilling before he was for it, and now he's against it again. As recently as 2008, Schwarzenegger was accusing politicians who supported offshore drilling of "blowing smoke", before deciding last year to endorse it as a way to close gaps in California's budget.

It shouldn't have taken a massive spill to see that offshore oil drilling puts economic and environmental resources at risk.
