Five Reasons to Vote No on Prop 14

Proposition 14 would change the primary system in California so that only the top two vote-getters in an open primary (regardless of party) would be on the ballot in the general election. This could hurt third-parties like the Green Party by making it harder for us to get on the general election ballot.

The Green Party of California has already endorsed a "No" Vote on Prop 14. Over at Green Change, Dave Schwab has an article about the top five reasons to reject Proposition 14 and the Top Two Primaries.

But, in the interest of "reducing gridlock", I've narrowed them down to just two:
  • Prop 14 is unnecessary (there are better solutions to the problem it is trying to address)
  • Prop 14 is undemocratic (by reducing the ability of parties to choose their candidates)
Click the link if you want to read Dave Schwab's other three reasons, but by doing so, I think you've made his point for him.
