Join LA Greens in May to Discuss Marijuana and Hemp

Celebrate National Hemp History Week with the Green Party on Wednesday, May 19 at 7pm.

The Los Angeles City Council recently passed an ordinance regulating -- and shutting down many -- medical marijuana dispensaries in the city. The ordinance takes effect in June, but a group representing medical marijuana collectives are suing to stop itfrom taking effect.

Reason magazine has a long article on the rise of medical marijuana dispensaries in los angeles, and the backlash that led to the city ordinance.

Meanwhile, a statewide proposition to legalize and tax marijuana has been placed on the November 2 ballot.
